About the Role - Clinical/Registered Psychologist

Mindstate Psychology is expanding! Our busy private practice specialises in evidence-based clinical treatment and is developing a reputation as the go-to place for clinical treatment and assessment in Perth. We have a model which allows you to develop your own practice and interests within this busy practice.  

The practice has been developed by Dr Phil Watts (director), who is a high-profile psychologist with 35 years experience as both a forensic psychologist, clinical psychologist, and neurofeedback practitioner. Due to expanding need, Dr Watts is keen to partner with clinicians who have varied experiences and are comfortable working independently in a supportive environment.

We are currently looking for a psychologist to work 2 - 5 days per week who is interested in psychological treatment (therapy etc). Mindstate gets a range of client referrals - the work is interesting and varied - with the ability to tailor referrals to your interest. We are particularly interested in clinicans who are: 

• EMDR-trained. We love EMDR trained practitioners. Mindstate gets a lot of trauma referrals amongst our varied caseload!
• Practitioners who are interested and comfortable working with children are especially valued.
• Practitioners who can work with Autism or do autistic spectrum assessments to complement our existing clincial assessment team.

Although we are open for discussion. Perhaps you have some other area of specialist skill and would like to develop it to complement our existing services? Let us know!

Key Requirements

• Completion of AHPRA recognised degree in Psychology, Clinical Psychology or a related field.
• Registration with the AHPRA.
• Experience working with children, adolescents or adults in a clinical/treatment setting.
• Strong team skills, with the ability to work independently.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.

About Mindstate Psychology

We have 13 consulting rooms, a neurofeedback clinical, and a high-tech training room if you want to run groups. There are 4 separate waiting rooms so clients do not feel overwhelmed. The office is in a central location in South Perth, and there is free staff parking for all practitioners.  It is close to the zoo, freeway, and a park.

Mindstate Psychology has a great team spirit. We need you to fit into the team environment. We hold team lunches on a regular basis. Practitioners get free access to Dr Watts' training workshops.  We run some PD in-house at times.

Plenty of work is available, and generally, you can get busy quickly in under 3 months! We can help you develop everything you need to run a successful private practice with generous returns for your efforts. Terms and nature of the facility fee are available on discussion (essentially the more you work the more you earn).
